Films: Aliens Vs. Avatars (2011)

Summary: You read that title right. Apparently, riding on the coattails of one of the most overpaid blockbusters ever means that you can just slap that title onto any alien film, and it'll sell gangbusters. Not today. Not today at all.

History: Somewhere in space, a race of shapeshifting aliens are fighting against savage beings known as the Scythe. One of these horrors makes it to Earth, and patrols the woodlands looking for people to kill. At least one Avatar has come down to subdue it, but can she before the Scythe eviscerates the teens in the forest?

Notable Kills: A bloody two-finger poke if there ever was one.

Final Fate: The Scythe is eventually subdued by an Avatar-built robot, stabbed in the abdomen by a tree branch, and then blown up by the same robot. However, it left some eggs behind...

Powers/Abilities: Invisibility.

Weakness: Heavy artillery.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-On one hand, this Yautja rip-off does have a slightly intimidating design, and it can get fairly violent at times. But both its kills and its powers are rendered in such awful CGI that it just takes instead of gives. Also, it goes down rather easily, and there are times where it's painfully obvious the guy in the suit is having a hard time getting around on account of not being able to see much.

Trivia: Nothing to see here. Except maybe a passing resemblence to the creature from "Alien 3000".
